On The Road Again

As mobile and remote staff continue to grow, opportunities for promo arise.

Ryan Bingham was the character played by George Clooney in the 2009 film, Up in the Air. Bingham represented the thousands of devoted professionals who live out of their suitcases, on the road, in the air and in hotels for more than three-quarters of the year.

Industries and many businesses rely on their road (or air) forces for sustainability. If your company relies on sales, executives or tech employees to travel regularly, this is a fertile opportunity to create custom packages for them which will foster loyalty.

Comfortable road warriors are more productive, and when their employers outfit them for their journeys, meetings, and tasks, they are instilled with a much deeper sense of company pride. The visibility is one that conveys your client’s devotion and generosity to its talent, and thus, provides a positive perception.  Equally, remote workers who are provided with branded desk and technology merchandise, as well as logoed apparel, are proven to be more productive.

In 2016, Leadership IQ surveyed approximately 3,500 employees that included office (home site) workers as well as mobile staff. The survey showed that 38% of mobile employees loved their job, 45% of remote (at home) workers, were very happy with their positions, and 24% of traditional office workers were happy. Remote and mobile workers exhibit a more self-starting ability (or should), and are adept at being independently productive.  Here, promotional products that reward goal achievement for both mobile and remote workers will also go a long way to encourage continued productivity.

Branded, quality corporate apparel for both remote and mobile staff is, without a doubt, top of the list. For example, Dunbrooke provides a wide range of corporate casual styles for men and women, from hoodies, to jackets, to polos all from prestige brands such as Izod, Calvin Klein, Reebok and Dunbrooke, as well as women’s and men’s dress shirts from Van Heusen. A large promotional corporate wear supplier is Vantage, which offers a variety of button-down shirts that are suitable for representing your client during travel and meetings abroad. Imagine, too, if the mobile sales force would sport a lapel pin (eg from Knobby Kraft Line).

Of course, mobile employees are all about comfort during travel and ensuring their travel gear is durable. For example, Motivator offers Atchison brand customized garment bags Samsonite’s Corporate Warrior duffel, American Tourister Voyager travel bag, among other luggage and bags. And, also offers toiletry brags, luggage tags, as well as travel accessory kits and travel comfort kits. Travel-friendly tech items such as earbuds, wireless charging mouse pads, mini tablet cases and 4 GB folding USB 2.0 flashdrives, all available from BIC Graphic, will be heavily used by mobile employees.

Additionally, for both mobile and remote employees, pens and other writing instruments (from such suppliers as Pentel and BIC Graphic) should be a no brainer. But also suggest providing logoed beautiful, high-quality journals and planners, such as those from SunGraphix (which also offers customizable passport/document holders, and briefcases). For sales staff, presentation folders such as those available from Warwick Publishing, can make an impactful presentation. Warwick also offers a selection of customized greeting cards for many occasions, including Thank-yous, which can be suggested to your client. Sales prospects or clients that receive Thank you cards in the mail will hold the sender and the company in high esteem, bolstering the positive image.

You can see now how many opportunities you have to bundle a wide range of products and garments for clients that rely on output from both mobile and remote workers.

And perhaps the best way to persuade the client to get on board is to showcase your logo on just about everything during your own sales meetings. Seeing, after all, really is believing … and buying.
